Dress Code Dilemma: What Should Female HR Executives Wear on Weekdays and Saturdays?

abirami.hr
Dear Seniors,

What is the dress code for female HR executives during weekdays and on Saturdays?

Warm Regards,
Abirami.J 😄 😄 😄

Dear Abirami,

It can be a formal shirt with blazers or a salwar, and above that, a blazer, or just a salwar. On Saturday, it's normally a casual day.

Hi!

The dress code for female HR Executives should be a formal shirt and trousers or a decent Salwar Kameez.

Dear Abirami,

It depends solely on your individual company policy, but usually formal trousers with a blazer during the weekdays, and jeans on Saturdays, are considered appropriate. For the weekdays, a sari is another alternative.

Hi,

It depends on the company and its location. However, the widely used dress code for female executives is formal shirts with trousers. Some industries incorporate their national traditional clothing as the dress code, and salwar is also commonly used in Indian companies.

Ultimately, whatever dress code is chosen, it should be comfortable for employees to carry out their duties and maintain the company's status.

Dress code for anyone, not necessarily for female HR executives.

If you have a company policy or uniform, you have no choice but to wear it. If there is no company policy or uniform, then wear what suits you rather than wearing what you like! Many of us make the mistake of wearing what we like.

Salwar and sarees are common in manufacturing, while salwars and trousers are generally practiced in BPOs and the IT sector. However, wear what suits you! That is very important.

I doubt you people what you say. Maybe I should click some snaps of IT and BPO employees wearing decent dresses and post them in this forum. Then maybe you can define what the decent dress code is. :P :P :P :P :P :P

Hi,

Dress code - should be decent and one should carry it properly. Basically, since you represent the company, the attire should be what suits you the best. As a matter of practice in IT/ITES - the most commonly used and comfortable formals are formal trousers and a shirt. A blazer can be added if required for meetings, trainings, or during walk-ins/recruitment.

Thanks, Shalini

Hi there,

Well, this happens to be my first post. I would like to introduce myself. I am Gaurav. Fortunately, I am a VnA trainer. It's been close to six and a half years that I have been working for international BPOs; thankfully, I have now recently switched over to KPOs. Simply loving it...

I happened to come across this site when I was searching for training material on American Culture and Accent training. It was somewhat helpful. It's fun reading everyone's comments. I will probably post mine someday...

Well, decent clothing is required for an HR executive because he/she is the one who represents the company and makes people follow policies.

A female HR executive is required to set the example for the rest of the company, and most of the time, this means polished business formal attire. She will be the go-to authority for other employees who may ask her what is required of them; therefore, it stands to reason that she needs to be a perfect example.

Female business formal is very easy to define in the states; however, there are obvious items that may be added when speaking of other countries and regions. First of all, clothing must fit! This is not a position where one allows skirts to droop and jackets to lazily fall off the shoulders! Clothing must be tailored close to the body but not too tight to suggest someone is going to the dance club or bar! Second, the material MUST be of a serviceable variety - dressy! No comfy, stretchy, or cotton here. Clothing should be well-constructed, lined, and formal. Beyond these things, a skirt suit or a jacket and skirt cut from the same fabric is most appropriate. A well-tailored dress, with an appropriate lining, may be worn in lieu of the skirt suit, but ladies, you must have a jacket on hand to give you that serious professional look. Make sure that professional pumps, with a modest heel, are worn at all times. Hosiery too! Generally, if it is comfortable, it usually isn't appropriate, is it? Let's be honest.

In conclusion, if one follows these rules, one will not only look the part but also feel the part. This variety of attire actually forces the individual wearing it to maintain proper posture and decorum during the workday, which will lend said individual the respect she deserves from those she will be assisting!

Hi,

Please find attached a PowerPoint presentation on the Dress Code. I am sure you will be able to get a fair idea about the dress code.

Ladies in HR must wear formal attire for office executives as prescribed by the customs followed in respective countries. There is no common attire universally because in Islamic countries, there are different dress codes. Similarly, in Europe and the U.S., the dress code is different. In South East Asia, India, or Bangladesh, the dress codes are also different. Therefore, we must adhere to those norms.

Hi,

The dress code depends on what the company culture is. A standardized dress code is as follows:
Weekdays: Formals - a shirt and trousers, or a decent salwar kameez, or a sari properly tied and well-pinned.
Weekend attire is casual: jeans or anything decent.
Slippers and floaters are not allowed in any case.
