How Can I Transfer My PF When My Previous Employer Has Shut Down in India?

Hi,

Previously, I was working in Gurgaon. I have got a new job in Bangalore, and I want to transfer my PF. Please let me know the procedure. Currently, that MNC company has closed down its operations in India and doesn't exist anymore. Please help me with how to transfer my PF.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Rudra,

For PF Transfer, you need to fill Form 13 and submit it to your current employer. When filling out the form, you must provide your previous PF number, the address of the company, the address of the regional PF Commissioner's office, the last working date in the previous company, and the date of joining the new company.

Your current employer has to fill out a certain portion of the form and submit it to the PF Office where they are registered. The amount from the previous company will be transferred to your new account.

I hope I have clarified your query.

Hi,

I was working for a company in Mumbai and now I'm switching over to another job. I worked with the previous company for 1.3 years. Now, I don't have any clue about whether PF should be withdrawn or transferred.

I'm thinking of transferring, but I really don't know which of these two processes is time-consuming and which process is more beneficial in terms of tax benefits.

Please reply to me.

Thank you,
Ashwin

Hi AMATYA,

Thank you for the information. However, I have one issue: my previous company currently doesn't exist as it has closed down its operations in India. Please let me know what I should do in this case.

Thanks and Regards,

I have my PF account in Gujarat and changed my job in December 2009 without any further communication with my previous employer. After this, I joined a new firm (without a PF account) for a period of 1.6 years. Currently, since May 2012, I have my new PF account in the Haryana PF Department. Can the previous amount be transferred to the new account after the 2-year period? This is because between January 2010 and April 2012, I did not have a PF account through any employer.

Please help me.

Explanation of EE Rs and ER Rs

Also, could you define the EE Rs and ER Rs?
