Why Are Women Often Preferred in HR Roles Over Men? Let's Discuss If It's Fact or Myth

Priyanka Arya
Hello Everyone,

Hope all of you are in your best health.

The question is very simple: why are females preferred as HR employees over males? Let's discuss this and find out whether this is actually prevailing or just a myth, and if it is, then why?

Best Regards,
Priyanka.

Hi Priyanka,

It's just a myth. There is no such preference. The qualities on the basis of which HR candidates are rated are generally found in females, but males are equally given a chance to appear for the interview. The HR qualities are preferred in the selection procedure; then, no matter if a female or male possesses those qualities, only the deserving candidate wins the position.

Dear Priyanka,

I do agree with what Durga has mentioned. It is simple; if you can go through the names of members from CITE HR itself, we can understand that both females and males are given an equal chance in today's world.

Friends, I hope you agree with me...

Hi Priyanka,

I don't think any preference is given in companies; in some cases, it may happen. A combination of both is better for the HR department. All are good if handling matters with a pleasant personality.

Dear Friends,

It is not gender-specific; it is the organizational need. In general, in Pharma companies, the packing section is crowded with female employees. To take care of their welfare, don't you think that we need a female HR person? Not only in Pharma but in any organization where female employees are present, we need a minimum of one female HR professional so that she can engage closely, discuss, understand, and address their concerns, which may not be possible for a male candidate.

We should consider the idea of having the right person in the right place. If you don't have that perception, your life may become miserable, and survival may be challenging.
