Understanding 90, 180, 270, and 360-Degree Performance Appraisals: Can You Share Examples and Insights?

thiruhrd
Dear All,

Can anybody explain to me what 90 degrees, 180 degrees, 270 degrees, and 360-degree performance appraisals are, with examples? I have been able to find more information regarding the 360-degree appraisal, but I am interested in a detailed understanding of all types. We are in the process of implementing the appraisal system. Kindly assist me in obtaining more information on this topic. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks with Regards, Thiru

Hi,

Well, according to me, the following can be the difference:

90 Degree - Only the superior is the evaluator.

180 Degree - The superior and peer group participate.

270 Degree - The superior, peer group, and subordinates participate.

360 Degree - The superior, peer group, subordinates, and self-appraisal.

540 Degree - The superior, peer group, subordinates, self, and customers or clients are included.

720 Degree - All the individuals in contact with the appraisee, such as the superior, peer group, subordinates, self, customers or clients, and family, are included. It's an all-dimension appraisal.

Hi,

I am not sure how one can include family and friends in a performance appraisal in reference to your work in an organization. Can you justify? Also, I would like to know how to apply performance appraisal in a small private firm.

Looking forward to hearing from you all :)

Hi All,

I believe in 540-degree appraisal, we include the customers to rate the employees, especially when the employees have greater interaction with the clients. Correct me if I am wrong. I would also like to know what 720-degree appraisal is; I have never heard of it.
