Hello Bharathy,

One does not need to be a professional to make their resume look impressive. All they need to do is present their goals, objectives, experience, and academic background. As far as I know...

Here are a few guidelines through which you can create a good resume:

i) OBJECTIVES
ii) PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
iii) CORE COMPETENCIES (areas of expertise)
iv) PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (starting from the most recent)
v) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (starting from the most recent)
vi) TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
vii) ACHIEVEMENTS
viii) PERSONAL INFORMATION
ix) REFERENCES

By following these guidelines, I am sure you can create a resume that looks good.

Thanks & Regards,
Anil Singh

Dear Cite users,

I am looking for guidance on how to address a person who is leaving. I need a written piece to address the individual who is departing from the organization.

Thank you.

Bharathy,

Resume writing is an art and can be very effective if portrayed in a right manner. Well, basically we need to follow a few points when we make a resume:

1- Not more than 2 pages.
2- Present your objective in a very effective manner; it should tell the company what you can give, not what you want.
3- Your skills and knowledge.
4- Your professional details; it is important to give details of only two organizations at max, not all if you have changed many.
5- Write your responsibilities briefly; don't forget to include Key Result Areas (KRAs), and never mention processing work.
6- In achievements, ensure they are quantified; using numbers is more effective.
7- Education should be summarized, starting with the highest degree.
8- Include special learning experiences like other professional courses or job-related seminars attended, not everything.
9- Personal Details: include your Date of Birth, Gender, Marital Status, Languages known, and Passport Details.

Resume formatting is also very important. Use spaces, good fonts, and ensure the content is readable without being overly dense.

As I design resumes, I have provided the details. If you need more help, kindly revert back. :)

I agree with Ms. Vijeta; whatever she has defined is really good. I also want to share my opinion about resumes.

DO:
1. The first thing in making a resume should be the Header (name, address, email address, phone number).
2. Define your objective clearly because employers will see what your objective is, the scope of your experience, and areas of proficiency.
3. Provide your educational details concisely.
4. Mention all your company details with your designation and time period.
5. Focus on job duties clearly and concisely.
6. Mention any awards, promotions, etc.
7. Briefly state your achievements.
8. Include references.
9. Conclude with personal information such as date of birth, marital status, height, weight, and hobbies.

Don’t:
1. A resume should neither be too long nor too short.
2. Avoid using personal pronouns or articles. For example, instead of "I or we develop a new product," use "Develop a new product."
3. Avoid including irrelevant information.

A resume is a form of business communication, so it should be clear, readable, and a perfect reflection of you.
