Do Proprietorships and Partnerships Need Registration Under the Companies Act 1956?

Hello,

Can anyone please advise me if a proprietor concern and a partnership firm need to be registered under the Companies Act of 1956? Or are there any other acts under which registration is required? If so, please advise.

Hi,

Not required to register under the Companies Act of 1956. The partnership firm cannot get itself registered with the Registrar for Firms & Society.
