Transitioning from Manufacturing to Retail: Is This Career Move Right for Me?

vaibhav.tal
Hi All,

I have a total of 4 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and have recently transitioned to the retail sector, taking into consideration the growth in this field. Now, I am also able to dedicate proper time to my family.

Is this a good move? Will it affect my career? I kindly request all senior members to provide me with guidance.

Thanks & Regards,
Vaibhav

Hi,

I am sure it will affect your career. Since you have good experience in the Manufacturing Industry, if you gain experience in the Service industry, I am sure you will be familiar with both sides of HR. There is a difference between HR in a factory setting and HR in the Service Industry. It's better to have experience in both areas; your resume will carry more weight as a result. Don't worry.

Cheers,

Thank you for your response, sir.

The work is similar in retail HR; only the exposure is comparatively less. In a factory, we follow the Factory Act, and in a store, there is the Shop Act. Similarly, some differences exist.

However, the most significant difference that I give more importance to is that in the retail sector, you can enjoy your family life much better than in factory HR.

Warm Regards,
Vaibhav Josh
