Can Our Factory in Pune Be Covered Under the ESI Act? Seeking Advice from Peers

I have been working at a limited company in Pune. There are 15 persons working in the Corporation area and 30 persons working in the outside area.

Can we cover our factory under the ESI Act?

Hi,

Since you have more than 30 employees, your company has to be registered under the ESI Act. You can only take an exemption if there is no ESI dispensary within a 3 km radius. To apply for the exemption, you need to submit a letter to the ESI authority.

What do you mean by Corporation Area? Do you mean Pune Corporation? Is it a factory or establishment? Do you mean to say notified area and area not notified under the Act? ESI Dispensary within three kilometers? Has the law been amended to this effect?
