Employee of the Month Criteria in KPO/BPO Companies: Best Practices and Parameters

Hi everybody,

I am heading the HR Department of an online advertising agency with operations in Offshore & Emerging Markets. I am planning to start an Employee of the Month program. It has to be transparent and measurable by the end of the month. Can anyone suggest or send me the parameters/criteria for the Employee of the Month that are commonly followed in KPO/BPO companies?

You may consider a number of components for the same:

1. Performance during the month
2. Attendance
3. Grooming
4. Behaviors with seniors and juniors
5. Leadership skills
6. Taking responsibility
7. Comments of seniors
8. Sincerity towards the job

And so on... According to your working environment and policy, you may add some more attributes for the same.

Following Mr. Amit Seth's suggestion, I recommend conducting a 360-degree feedback assessment on a casual basis to evaluate behavioral aspects. Functional judgment may be straightforward, but assessing behavioral aspects is where mistakes can often occur.
