Seeking Your Help: How Do You Create Effective HR MIS for a Global Team?

I have been with Cite HR for a while now and benefited from all your postings. Thank you all.

One of my recent projects in HR is creating an HR MIS for our global team. I have some thoughts and formats but would need a lot of assistance too. I would request members from the forum to please share your views/suggestions on HR MIS and also if you have any templates/data on the same.

Hi,

MIS report is known as Management Information System regarding the Manpower status of a particular month, place, and overall. It helps the Management in decision-making, such as identifying the reasons for resignation, areas with high attrition rates, and many other factors crucial for decision-making. With the help of MIS, you can prepare various reports like annual attrition, region-wise attrition, region-wise manpower, graphical representations of region's manpower status, and more.

You can prepare the same at your end. It will assist you in creating other similar formats too.

I am describing the contents sheet-wise:

First Sheet -

Details of employees:

a. E.Code
b. Name of employee
c. Date of birth
d. Designation
e. CTC
f. Address for communication
g. Permanent address
h. Contact number
i. Blood group
j. Maximum qualification
k. Extra qualification
l. Total Experience

Second Sheet -

Salary structure:

In this sheet, write down the complete salary structure and include a column for the salary after any revision.

Third Sheet -

New Joinees:

In this sheet, list the names of new joiners of that month along with details like CTC, Designation, DOB, etc.

Fourth Sheet -

Resigned employees:

In this sheet, list the names of employees who resigned during that particular month with details such as name, designation, date of joining, date of resignation, and last working day.

Fifth Sheet -

Attrition rate:

Based on this MIS report, you can derive attrition reports, qualification analysis reports, team management reports, and more.

Do you think including a qualification and age group bar is also a good idea?

Yes, very true. Adding qualifications as well as age is also a good idea. You may also add some more sheets with the names of welfare activities, Training conducted, and other activities. Here you may detail the work done under the subject.
