Hi Pooja,
A few days before, I also inquired and needed help on BEI technique. Today, I have gained some knowledge about it.
A Behavior Event Interview (BEI) is a method used to predict the future performance of a candidate based on their past behavior. During the interview, the interviewer aims to assess how the candidate would behave in a similar situation by asking questions about their past experiences.
At the time of the interview, the interviewer should document the key elements of the candidate's personal involvements. The questions asked in this type of interview should focus on specific situations such as: What was the problem? How did you deal with it? What was the outcome? What happened first/next? Who was involved?
By applying best prediction principles, the interviewer can make judgments about the candidate's skills, knowledge, and talent. The main objective of BEI is to select the right person for the right job.
I hope this explanation clarifies the concept of BEI.
Regards,
Sadhana
