Seeking Real-World Insights on HR Practices in the Indian Hotel Industry for My Project

pratikdabhi
Hi friends,

I am Pratik. I am in the final year of a degree course in hotel management. I am to submit a project on the above topic, i.e., HR PRACTICES IN INDIAN HOTEL INDUSTRY. I wish to include more practical details in my project rather than just the same old bookish information that most already know or have an idea about. And thus, I would need a lot of help from everyone.

This is supposed to be a 75-page project. It is expected to provide information about the practices of the HR department, including all the policies, duties, and responsibilities of the department. The "INDIAN HOTEL INDUSTRY" phrase includes business, leisure, and luxury types of hotels.

Sorry for the belated reply, pa. I was on Pongal Leave. Actually, I am working in a business-class hotel in Karur, a textile city located 75 km from Trichy, Tamil Nadu.

You may ask any questions, and I will try my best to answer them.

Regards,
Suriya

Hi buddy,

This is Abhilash. You can ask me about your project; maybe I can help. Well, there are different departments in HR. The time office is responsible for maintaining the attendance of the employees and making the salary of employees as per attendance.

Secondly, there is a training department which is responsible for making the training schedule for all employees of the hotel. This department is also responsible for the induction process of new joiners. The HRD department is responsible for taking care of the medical and fringe benefits for the employees, as well as for the performance appraisal, etc.

I think this will help you understand the role of the HR department in the hotel. You can also email me for more knowledge at abhilash_tee@yahoo.co.in.

Take care.

I am also in the HR department of the hotel industry. I am looking to create a training module. Can you suggest which subject I should focus on for these modules?

Hi Friend,

Greetings...

I am an HR Executive in the Hotel Industry and have recently joined this organization. I am faced with a challenging task of framing basic HR policies for the organization. While I have experience in recruitment, I am struggling to figure out the right way to frame these policies. It would be great if you could suggest some ideas for this task. Our organization belongs to the Hotel Industry and has an employee strength of 120. We aim to adopt policies that are suitable for organizations like ours.

Waiting for a prompt response.

Regards,
Haripriya

Hey, I have a confusion. Do welfare schemes, training and development, performance appraisal, promotions, leave policy, loans, and advances come under employee engagement or employee relations? Please help.
