IT industry is very sophisticated field as far as People management is concerned and to satisfy a software professional is a great deal nowadays as job market is at boom.
The best way to satisfy him /her is to provide with value addition at every moment:
Make them feel valuable
Make efforts to upgrade them regularly
Maintain Transperancy to the limit it is required
Remuneration is also a. aspect not to neglected
Good working Culture
Timely growth opportunities
If possible , onsite opportunities can be provided
