Will Joining My New Job Sooner Than Planned Cause Any Issues? Seeking Advice!

Hi all,

I'm relieved from my current organization and joining a new one. I've informed the company I'm joining that I'll be available only one month after the selection, and they have agreed. I have received the offer letter stating the same. I initially asked for a month to join as I needed to complete my current assignments at the current company, and I calculated one month for it. However, I managed to complete it within 15 days, and now my current company is ready to relieve me. My humble question is: will this time gap create any problems in the future if I join the new company after 15 days?

It should not matter much. You shouldn't waste your time, though 15 days is quite a negligible gap.

As HR professionals, we consider the most reasonable time between a previous and new job to be at least 30 days. It is advisable to adhere to this timeframe to prevent any complications later on.

If you are really concerned about the 15-day gap, then you can speak to your new company and join them early. I don't think that any company will have any problem. If you check your offer letter, you will find "your joining would be on or before" the specific date. Otherwise, you have got 15 days to refresh yourself and prepare for the new assignment. There are many professionals in the industry who have taken this kind of rest time between their old and new organization. Just relax and enjoy your time.

It is not a big problem. The gap should be a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 3 months. It won't be a problem for the new company if you join 15 days before the joining date; surely, they will welcome you.
