Hi friend,

Wishing you a happy New Year 2008.

HR is essential for every sector; the role of HR depends on the nature of work the organization does. HR is responsible for tasks such as payroll, training, counseling, and performance evaluation among many other activities that must be performed.

Hi All,

In agreement with Praveen, I would also like to add that services are provided by humans, and where there are human beings, there will be a need for HR. This sector nowadays faces great competition. To make services more efficient, you need individuals with certain attributes. Talent may exist, but grooming it and developing it into a competency that benefits the organization in the long term is the role of HR, in my opinion. The role of HR is extensive and vital in all sectors, but where the focus is on people, the role of HR is particularly enriched.

Well, I could write a 2500-page dissertation on this, but for now, I guess this is what I can contribute... 😄

Regards,
Sandeep K.
