How Should I Handle a Candidate Falsely Claiming to Work at My Company?

Anjum Joshi
Dear All,

I am Anjum Joshi, working as an HR with a Software Development company. While I was searching for good profiles on one of the job portals, I came to know that somebody has written my company's name in his resume. Additionally, he has mentioned that he is currently working in my organization. I really want to take proper action against that candidate.

Request you to help me out. What do I need to do to teach him a good lesson?

Regards,
Anjum Joshi

Hi,

I agree that he did something wrong, but not as you mentioned in wanting to teach him a lesson. You can contact him directly and tell him. What else can you do for it? Try to help others and do things that can motivate them.

Hi Anuradha,

I am trying to reach him but no response. I'll surely find out more about his full name, address, etc. I will keep you posted.

Hi Anjum,

The first thing you need to do is to verify whether he has mentioned your company only since there may be a possibility that there are companies with the same name. You can do a cold call to him and ask him casually about his work in the company (your company). If you get assured that it's your company only, do not disclose your identity at the moment. Try to know more about him, his address.

You can trace his address and, if possible, his real work company. You can then take legal action against him. I really do not know what actions you can take. I can suggest you discuss this issue with his boss. Maybe other members will be able to help you.

Hi, Joshi

Please write to the portal first to request the removal of his resume with proper proof. You need not waste your time tracking back to find out where he is and what he is currently doing. It is the responsibility of the company that hired him or is planning to hire him to uncover the truth. As long as it does not negatively impact your company, you can remain calm.

This is my opinion.

Yes, Kumar, you are right. Ask him to file a criminal case immediately. Why is he getting so much? Help others first.
