How Are Leave Records Calculated and What Happens to Unused Casual Leave?

Hi Friends,

I have 2 questions:

1. On what basis are leave records calculated - financial year or calendar year?

2. What happens to unavailed casual leave of the year? In the previous company where I was working, this was transferred to Privilege (Earned Leave) as the opening balance for the next year.

All legislations provide for the calculation of leave for the calendar year. Casual leave lapses at the end of the year. This is a general practice. Some companies may have different practices, but as a general rule, it lapses.
