When Are Provident Fund and ESIC Deductions Due for Deposit? Seeking Clarity!

Dear Parv,

1) The last date to deposit the PF challan is the 15th of every month, but the grace period is 5 days, allowing you to deposit it until the 20th.

2) The last date to deposit the monthly PF return (Form 12-A) is the 25th of every month.

3) The last date to deposit the PF yearly return is the 25th of April every year.

4) The last date to deposit the ESIC challan is the 21st of every month.

5) The last dates to deposit the ESIC returns are the 11th of May and the 11th of November every year.

This is an internal circular, and a copy of it is not available to the general public. This grace period is for their reference only. If you deposit on the 21st, then the delay will be 6 days.

Thank you for replying to me, but we are facing a problem when we submitted a PF. The PF officer says there are no rules for a grace period. I have checked the PF Act of 1952, and there is no mention of a grace period.
