Seeking HR Executive Role: How Can I Transition from Executive Assistant?

I am looking for an opening in HR at the executive level. Currently, I am working as an Executive Assistant to the Director of HR and have also completed my MBA in HR from Mumbai University part-time in the 2003-2006 batch. I have a total of one and a half years of HR experience.

What kind of exposure do you get in a role like an executive assistant? Is it all HR activities or just the MIS part and report making?

Executive Assistants take care of all the work of the Director, which includes not just MIS reporting but also recruitment, performance management, leave management, etc.

I am looking for an opening in the HR Department as an HR Executive. Currently, I am working as an HR Executive in a 4-star hotel and pursuing a PG Diploma in HRM from ICFAI University, Hyderabad.

Experience in HR Department: 1.6 Years.
