Dear all,

My name is Irfan. I have completed a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and currently employed in a reputable company. I am considering pursuing an MBA and would like to know if my diploma can help me in building a career in HR. Could you please guide me in the right direction?

Hi Irfan,

Good to know that you want to take up further studies. I am afraid you may not be able to take up an MBA course now as one has to be a graduate to pursue such a course in any university in India or abroad. Instead, you can consider taking up some short-term courses on HR offered by various institutes and universities here. However, that may not significantly contribute to your career growth.

My suggestion would be to visit the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) site and look for a course that interests you. IGNOU offers a variety of courses suitable for all types of students. I am providing you with the link to assist you in this: http://www.ignou.ac.in/

Hi,

Thank you for your suggestions; they are really helpful. I am currently pursuing my graduation in B.Tech from IGNOU, but the deadline has expired. I have to wait for a year to reapply. In the meantime, courses like PRO/E will be beneficial for me. I am interested in pursuing opportunities abroad as the pay scale is much higher there. Can you suggest anything in this regard?

Once again, thank you. I am looking forward to your reply.

Hi Irfan,

With your qualifications, I think you will be able to secure some good job openings in the Middle East. There are plenty of opportunities for Mechanical Engineering Diploma holders with very attractive remuneration packages.

I suggest reaching out to overseas placement agencies in your vicinity as they can provide you with proper guidance. However, be cautious of potential scams. It is essential to verify the credibility of the agency before proceeding with them.

Alternatively, keep an eye on the newspapers for overseas job opportunities and apply whenever you come across a position that matches your profile.

I do agree with what Byomjeet had said.

You can also pursue a distance MBA from ICFAI University and Symbiosis.

It's nice to learn that you are planning for your MBA. Before that, I would like to ask if your Diploma is after 12th (If yes, then for how many years & which institute you have done it from?)
