Is There a Grace Period for PF Deposits? Seeking Urgent Clarity on Compliance Deadlines

Dear Friends,

As per the PF Act, a company has to deposit its monthly PF contribution by the 15th of every month, but I have not found anything related to a grace period.

Our company is in the practice of depositing it by the 20th. Please let me know about any grace period, if it exists, and provide the relevant act/section or circular regarding this.

This information is urgently required by me.

As the company deposits late payment after the due date, the company has to pay late payment charges.

Dear Kavita,

The company has to deposit PF contributions by the 15th of every month. There is a grace period of 5 days if the salary is paid on the 7th instead of the 1st.

No, it is clearly written in the EPF Act that there is a grace period up to the 20th of every month. Please read the EPF Act.

I have a disagreement with AKPK34. As previously, there was no such grace period; the last date for the deposit of EPF accumulation was the 15th of every month. However, due to some discrepancy in the site updating process by EPFO, this month the grace period is provided. The circular is enclosed for reference.
