Back in my second year of college, I went for a one-day part-time factory job through an informal setup. It was never a formal employment contract—I didn’t receive any offer letter or salary, and I left the same day after informing the supervisor. To my surprise, I recently checked my EPFO records and found a contribution of Rs. 153 from that company, even though I was never paid. I am puzzled—how can they contribute to PF without any salary credited?
Now, this company has shut down permanently and cannot be contacted.
My Concerns:
1. Will this affect my future employment background checks (e.g., MNCs)?
2. How can I get this one-day PF record removed or declared invalid?
3. What steps can I take legally or through EPFO to rectify this?
4. Is there any affidavit or declaration I can submit in the absence of official documents?
Any advice from HR/legal experts or anyone with similar experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
