Why Do Team Building Activities Persist Despite Employee Reluctance? Let's Discuss

Many of you on CiteHR are already aware of my stance on team building and employee bonding activities. In all the places I've worked, I've made it a point to be absent whenever such events were organized, often using sick leave as my excuse. The only activities I ever participated in were staff lunches, which provided a comfortable and relaxed environment for all employees.

However, like Covid-19 or the flu, these activities seem to persist. Enthusiastic managers and HR departments continue to organize them, only to be left wondering why there are no changes.
