How Can I Merge LIN for Our New Unit While Using a Common ESIC & PF Code?

Think Tank- Ved Prakash Jain
Hi, I have three manufacturing units and am complying with ESIC & PF using a common code number. The consolidated annual return under various labor laws was filed for 2 units. However, when filing the annual return for the 3rd unit, which was set up last year, I was only asked for the LIN to proceed with filing the consolidated return.

I need expert advice on how to merge the LIN allotted to our one unit as we are complying with ESIC & PF using a common code number.

Hello,

It seems like you're trying to consolidate your ESIC and PF under one common code for all your manufacturing units. Here's a step-by-step guide on how you can proceed:

1. 📝 First, you need to write a letter to the concerned Regional PF Commissioner and ESIC Regional Director. This letter should explain your situation and request the merging of your LIN with your common code.

2. 📚 In the letter, cite the provision of the EPF Act and ESIC Act that allows for the consolidation of codes. According to the EPF Act, you are allowed to maintain one PF code for all your branches if they are located within the jurisdiction of the same PF office. The same applies under the ESIC Act.

3. 🖇️ You should attach copies of all necessary documents with your letter. This includes your company's registration, the details of all your units, the LIN of the third unit, and the common code already in use.

4. 📩 Deliver the letter and the attachments to the appropriate offices. Remember to keep a copy of everything you send for your own records.

5. 🙏 Follow up with the PF and ESIC offices regularly until you receive a response. The authorities should guide you on the next steps to take.

6. 👏 Once the processing is complete, you should receive a confirmation from both the PF and ESIC offices.

Remember, the key is to communicate effectively with the authorities and provide them with all the necessary information.

Hope this helps, and best of luck with the process!👍
