Dear all, Please advise on how many employees should be working in an industry to apply Standing Orders. If there are fewer than 50 employees, can they also apply for this? Please provide the model Standing Order. Thank you.
This Act requires employers in industrial establishments with 100 or more employees to formally define the conditions of employment. The Act applies to industrial establishments in mines, oil fields, major ports, and establishments under the control of the Central Government or a Railway Administration.
At the All India level, it is required to have 100 or more workmen. However, please check your state's amendment for specific requirements.
