If an employee is on medical leave for two months, during which no salary is processed, and the days are considered as Loss of Pay (LOP), should Provident Fund (PF) still be contributed or calculated?
PF is an amount contributed from the salary earned. If there is no salary earned, how can the employee contribute to PF? Similarly, PF is contributed by the employer on the salary paid or payable. When there is no salary paid or payable to an employee, how can the employer contribute to PF? No, right?
