Is It Legal for My Company to Delay Salary Payments and Pay for Only 27 Days?

I recently joined a company in Bangalore at Anjanapura as a Talent Partner Recruitment Executive at XXX company. At the time of hiring, the founder informed me that our salary cycle is from the 20th to the 20th. I assumed the payout would occur between the 21st and 25th of every month. The offer letter also mentioned "our salary cycle is from the 20th to the 20th, and payout is on or before the 5th of the next month." I joined on September 24th, and until October 31st, my salary had not been paid. After making a request, due to Diwali, etc., the compensation was eventually paid but only for 27 days. My question is, according to the law, is this practice acceptable or not?
