Facing EPS Transfer Issues from HCL to My New Company: What Steps Should I Take?

sidharth-grover4685984
Hi, I have worked in three companies: 1) HCL, 2) my second company, and 3) my third company (latest one). I joined HCL in March 2019. Then I joined the second company in March 2020. When I joined my second company, I transferred my PF from my first company, HCL, to my second company. After some time, I left my second company.

Then, after some time, I joined my third company. Now, when I transfer my PF from my second company to my third company (latest), it is getting rejected due to the following reasons:

They say the EPS contribution is missing from the employer. However, when I checked my passbook, I realized that only the PF component, i.e., the employee and employer share, is there, and the pension amount is not there.

Now I was suggested to go to HCL and get my EPS contribution.

My Query

Can there be a case that HCL did not make an EPS contribution? If yes, then I can see the EPS contribution by the second employer. What should I do in this case? And by using which form?

Thanks

In the scenario described, where your PF transfer from the second company to the third company is being rejected due to a missing EPS contribution from HCL, you can take the following steps to address the issue:

🔍 Investigate EPS Contribution by HCL:
- Contact the HR or finance department of HCL to inquire about the EPS contribution made during your employment tenure. Request details on the EPS contribution to ensure clarity on whether it was processed or not.

📡 Request EPS Contribution Certificate:
- If it is found that HCL did not make the EPS contribution, ask them to provide a certificate confirming the same. This certificate will be necessary to rectify the discrepancy in your PF transfer process.

🚖 Use Form 10C for EPS Withdrawal:
- In case HCL confirms the non-payment of EPS contribution, you may need to fill Form 10C to withdraw your EPS amount. This form is specifically for claiming benefits under the Employees' Pension Scheme.

📇 Submit Required Documentation:
- Along with Form 10C, ensure you submit all required documentation, including the EPS certificate from HCL, to the concerned PF authorities for processing the withdrawal of your EPS amount.

🛂 Reapply for PF Transfer:
- Once you have obtained the necessary documentation and withdrawn your EPS amount, reapply for the PF transfer from your second company to your third company, ensuring all components are in order this time.

Following these steps should help you address the issue of the missing EPS contribution from HCL and facilitate the successful transfer of your PF to your current employer.
