How Would You Handle Being Terminated After Resigning Due to Stress and HR Disputes?

My sister has been working at Infosys for the last three years. In June 2024, due to her medical issues, she requested medical leave from the office along with attached reports. However, HR considered this false documentation because her doctor's prescription was under her official name, while her test reports contained her nickname. This discrepancy caused a lot of mental pressure and stress, leading HR to file a case against her.

Even though my sister provided an affidavit to the company, leading them to close the case, they unexpectedly reopened it a month later. The company stated that she had breached company policy and terminated her employment because she had argued with HR due to the immense stress and constant mental pressure she had been under for the previous four months. Before her termination, my sister had already submitted her resignation, which was accepted via email. However, they are treating it as a termination and refusing to provide a termination letter.

Legal Implications of Termination and Resignation

First, it is not legal to issue a termination letter to an employee who is applying for a resignation. On the other hand, it is also illegal to terminate anyone by specifying his/her guilt.
