Stuck with an Old Job's Exit Date? Seeking Advice on Avoiding a Pune PF Office Visit

Hi everyone, I had my first job 10 years ago, and the company is now closed. They forgot to update my date of exit, and I cannot mark this as there has been no contribution from that for 8 years. I've read that I need to visit the PF office personally for this. However, I'm in Bangalore, and my old job was in Pune (so Pune PF office). Is there any way I can avoid traveling to Pune to mark my exit date? Can any of you help me with this?

Hi, you can set your own exit date by logging in through the member portal at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in.

No, you can update only up to 2-3 years after leaving the company (from the last PF payment that was made to the account).
