How Can I Club My Old EPS Account with My New UAN for Pension Benefits? Seeking Guidance

Seeking Guidance on EPS Account Clubbing and Certification

I worked from 1983 to 1998, during which time there was no UAN or Aadhar. Due to a lockout, I returned to my native place. I claimed both PF and EPS, but only received the PF amount. I was advised by EPS to obtain scheme certification. After a long break, I joined a company from 2017 to 2023, and now I have a UAN. I retired at the age of 58 and now wish to club my old EPS account with the new UAN to receive pension benefits.

Form Submission and Attestation Procedures

Could you please advise on which form I need to submit to obtain the old scheme certification and the procedures for form attestation? There is a government middle school near my home in TN; is their signature valid for this purpose? I am awaiting your guidance.

You have to do these processes online by visiting the EPFO's member portal. If you have not yet activated your UAN, first do that. After that, you can transfer the service from the old one to the latest. If you do not have any PF accumulations to be transferred, then you can directly proceed to apply for a pension. For this also, you can use the same portal. Before proceeding to apply for a pension, you should file a nomination. Also, submit the KYCs, etc., as prescribed. Then, while applying for a pension, you can mention the scheme certificate number, etc. With this, your previous service will be added to the last/current service, and the pensionable service and amount of pension will be calculated accordingly.

Dear Madhu,

The scheme certificate has not been received yet. The online portal is not accepting it due to the older one, and no UAN was available at that time. The present UAN has already been activated, and KYC has also been cleared.
