Hi, I am the only HR of a company whose operations are in Canada, but we have 16+ employees in India working remotely. I need to form a new leave policy that is in the interest of employees and the employer. The company follows the Canadian calendar for 10 holidays. We work in night shifts, Monday to Friday.
Current Leave Policy Overview
The previous leave policy allowed for 1 leave earned after 6 months of probation and 2 special paid leaves. There is no provision for medical leave or any other type of leave. For employees on a 6-month probation, only after completing probation are they entitled to 1 month leave each month. We have an Indian payroll for Indian employees.
