Hi everyone, I recently left my company after serving a one-month notice period. They offered a buyout option for the remaining two months, which I declined. Now, I need Form 16 to file my Income Tax Return, but my ex-company is refusing to send it.
Here's my situation:
- Served 1-month notice out of 3 months for KT.
- Company offered buyout for the remaining 2 months, which I declined.
- Left the company without paying the buyout.
- Have all payslips but need Form 16 for ITR.
My questions are:
- Can my ex-company legally refuse to send me Form 16 because I didn't pay the buyout?
- Are there any legal implications for them if they withhold this document?
- What steps can I take to get Form 16 from them?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
