Employee Joining on April 25, 2024: How Many Days to Record on PF ECR?

rattanthakur2009@gmail.com
Hi Sir, Please confirm if any employee joins the company on 25th April 2024. For the creation of the PF challan, how many days should we mention on the PF ECR—five days or 25 days? Please suggest.

Your reply to your question. As you said, the employee joined on April 25th, which accounts for only five working days. How will you justify the working days on the 25th?

Dear Rattanthakur,

Please note that after filing the ECR and approving the EPF Challan, a challan is generated. In reference to your query about your employee who joined on 25/04/2024, there is no column for mentioning the number of days worked in the ECR. However, there is a column to mention NCP - Non-Contributory Pay Days/Loss of Pay.

Please ensure to frame your question thoughtfully for a response from the members.

Ensure either ESI or EPF

1) Ensure either ESI or EPF.

EPF Requirements

2) EPF is required to mention only NCP days (LOP).

ESI Requirements

3) ESI is required to mention the total payable days of the month.

Hi Sir, Thank you for your reply, but my question was regarding an employee joining the company on April 25, 2024. When creating the EPF challan ECR, how many days can we mention as NCP days? This is because the employee only worked 5 days that month. Should we consider the remaining days as NCP days or not? Please advise.

Dear member,

Please note that you have confirmed the employee joined on 25/04/2024. Consequently, his Date of Joining for EPF is also 25/04/2024. There is no question of mentioning NCP from 01/04/2024 to 25/04/2024. If there is any NCP from 25/04/2024 to 30/04/2024, only that has to be mentioned. Please update yourself about ECR/Filing EPF Monthly Return.
