Setting Leave Rules for Pharma Marketing: How Do You Manage Leave Types and Policies?

We are a pharmaceutical marketing company. We want to set leave rules for our employees. Kindly share different heads of leave rules, how many leaves can be taken or carried forward, which calendar month it should start, and how many maximum leaves can be encashed.

Leaves for applicable pharma companies shall be as per the following Acts.

1. For employees in the pharmaceutical manufacturing factory, it should be as per the Factories Act.

2. The employees engaged in accounting activities, HR, administration, and other functions in offices situated outside the factory premises shall follow the Shops and Commercial Establishments Act. Offices located in different states within the same organization shall have different leave policies.

3. Sales promotion officers, medical representatives, and similar roles shall receive leaves in accordance with the Sales Promotion Employees (Conditions of Service) Act.

In summary, within the pharma industry, there can be three types of leaves, and the leave policy should incorporate these mandatory provisions outlined in the Acts mentioned above.
