Maternity Leave Dilemma: Can My Employee Get ESIC Benefits After Just Six Months?

pulsar180
Dear All,

Please help me out with maternity leave benefits.

One of my employees joined the company six months ago. Now she is on leave and having a baby. Will she receive any cash benefits or leave encashments from ESIC?

As per my understanding, a person should complete a nine-month period to be eligible for the cash benefit, right?

Yes, you are correct. The contribution period is important. For your easy reference, an example is given below.

Contribution Period

If the person joined an insurance employment for the first time, let's say on 5th January, his first contribution period will be from 5th January to 31st March, and his corresponding first benefit will be from 5th October to 31st December.

Thanking You,
