What is the difference between watch and ward duties and security guard duties?

One company approached us to keep a watch and ward duties contract rather than a security contract. Can we do that, and what is the authority for it?

Difference Between Security and Watch & Ward

Though both terms mean almost the same, security is a broader concept that encompasses the protection of personnel, equipment, and materials within a company. In contrast, watch and ward services are primarily focused on safeguarding human beings at the workplace.

To illustrate, fire services would be considered part of security but not of watch & ward. Similarly, accident prevention could fall under the scope of security but not of watch & ward.
