Termination of Service

Termination of Service is a broader term, and dismissal is one way of executing it. The other term is Removal from service. Both are outcomes of disciplinary action, with dismissal being an extreme punishment reserved for grave misconduct cases such as theft, abuse, threats, assault, dishonesty, fraud, etc. It should not be imposed in cases like absence from duty or being found sleeping while on duty. Dismissal is likened to a death sentence for a criminal and should only be applied in the rarest of cases.

Discharge

Discharge refers to being released from contractual obligations. According to the employment contract, the employer can discharge an employee by providing notice of termination in compliance with the notice period regulation.
