Pay Scale - would like to know what the pay scale (minimum and maximum as per the grade for each position) need to be followed

Dear colleagues,

Greetings. I am an HR professional in a company in Tamil Nadu, and we specialize in General Engineering. I would like to understand the pay scale (minimum and maximum as per the grade for each position) that needs to be followed.

Role of a Machine Operator

For instance, let's consider the role of a machine operator. If an individual has 3 years of experience, they would start with a certain salary, while someone with 10 years of experience could command a higher salary. I am interested in similar information for other positions such as supervisors, managers, engineers, and so on.

Thank you,

Saseendran

Dear Saseendran,

For new joiners, you have to follow and pay applicable minimum wages/Engineering Wages, i.e., Skilled, Semi-skilled, Unskilled. (Minimum wages can vary from state to state). Please note that the employer must maintain registers and records of the minimum wages to be paid to the employee.

For other designations, i.e., supervisors, managers, engineers, you can arrange a salary survey because a salary survey is a standard method of finding out what other organizations pay for specific positions or job categories.

Thank you, Mr. Alok. How do you conduct a survey? Do you mean using a third party?
