Joining Date vs. Form-11 Date: Is It Okay for Them to Differ When Collecting Documents?

a-gupta1672191
When an employee joins, it takes some time to collect all documents like bank account proof and KYC in the required format. This delay can result in the date on the documents differing from the date of joining indicated on the joining form. My question is, can the joining date and the date on Form-11 be different?

Understanding Form 11

Form 11 is a document used to declare whether an employee is already a member of the Provident Fund (PF) or not. It is unrelated to the date of joining. Typically, all forms will have a date on which they are prepared or signed. In the case of Form 11, the date of signing is not relevant. What matters are the contents, such as the previous Universal Account Number (UAN), the date of exit from the previous PF, etc.

All statutory forms and identity proofs are collected at the time of joining. However, a delay of a few days will not cause any issues.
