Missed the December Labor Welfare Fund Deduction? Seeking Solutions and Remedies

If the labor welfare fund is not remitted or the deductions from employees are not made in December, and the payment is not completed in January, what is the remedy?

Hi, In case the LWF is not deducted from the employee's salary, you may deduct the same from the subsequent month's salary with intimation to the concerned authority authorized by the Act.

Hi Rajeshhr, You can pay both the employees' and employer's contributions to the Welfare Commissioner, Labour Welfare Board immediately for December 2023 and deduct the same from the respective/eligible employees' February 2024 salary. You may be required to pay interest subsequently if demanded by the authority.
