Does the Model Standing Order prohibit including a client's name (principal employer - US) as a line item in the employment contract if the principal employer doesn't have a legal entity in India? A Model Standing Order refers to a 'model' of a standing order based on which an establishment covered by the Industrial Establishments (Standing Orders) Act can prepare its standing orders. The model provided in the Act will be applied to an establishment temporarily, and within six months of its coverage under the Act, the establishment should have its draft standing orders certified by the appropriate authority.

Standing orders are applicable only to employees on the rolls of the establishment and do not extend to employees from other establishments working within the establishment. If the contractor is also considered an establishment under the purview of the Standing Order Act and has established its own standing orders, they can use it as the objective for employing workers.
