New to a Startup? What HR Records Should You Keep Track Of?

I have just joined a software firm and I need to know the various records that are to be maintained by the HR Department. It is a startup... Could you please help?

For HR records, you need to maintain a Management Information System (MIS) with all the details of the employees.

The list of photocopies to be maintained by the HR department about the employees are:

1. Photocopies of the educational certificates.
2. Photocopies of experience and relieving letters from the previous employment of the employees (mandatory).
3. Any other certifications the employee has.

In addition to these, the HR department should maintain an Excel sheet with the details of the employees for easy data retrieval whenever needed.

The details to be maintained in the Excel sheet are as follows:

1. Employee Code
2. Name of the Employee (Full Name)
3. Date of Joining
4. Experience
5. Designation
6. Department
7. Cost to Company (CTC) per annum
8. Probationary Period
9. Notice Period
10. Present Address
11. Permanent Address
12. Mobile Number
13. Residence Number
14. Emergency Contact Number
15. Official Email ID
16. Personal Email ID
17. PF Number Allotted
18. Bank Account Number
