Facing Termination After Resignation? Seeking Advice on Protecting My Career

Hi, I have been working for one of the prominent companies for the last three years. Before joining, they made a declaration that the information I provided is true to the best of my knowledge, and I am not hiding anything.

Early Career Experience

I had worked for a small startup at the beginning of my career. The startup was not yet officially registered as a private limited company. The company owner, who was my friend, provided an offer letter with a previous date since we started working together before the company was officially registered. He had an LLP and later converted it to a private company. The project funding initially came from a very small microfinance society, but they stopped it for some reason.

Disclosure and Current Situation

I disclosed this experience to my current company, and both HR and the manager were aware of it. However, after resigning, the manager provided negative reviews to my current organization, from which I had removed my previous experience due to the offer date discrepancy.

Currently, I am receiving feedback that my deliveries are not on time, despite meeting the deadlines. It feels like I am being indirectly targeted to appear incapable. I am concerned that the current company may issue a termination letter after my resignation due to not disclosing my previous experience.

How should I handle this situation without negatively impacting my career?

Background Verification and Offer Letter Clauses

In your offer letter, was anything mentioned about a BGV clause? Like, your offer letter is subject to positive background verification. If not, then technically they can't use this reason for your termination. If you resigned first, and they issue you a termination letter after that, you can always use your resignation email as proof that you had decided first to resign from the company.

Handling Short Employment Periods

Also, if you have worked in your present company for less than 6 months, don't show it in your experience. In this way, you can avoid unnecessary confusion.

Dealing with Negative Reviews

For negative reviews from your past organization, I have no idea. What is your profile? If you are associated with Sales or Project delivery, do you have any documentation where you have been appreciated for your on-time delivery or have you received any promotion during the tenure of your service? Kindly use those documents.
