Sandwich Leave Dilemma: Are Weekends Counted if Leave Starts on a Working Saturday?

I have a query regarding the sandwich leave policy. If an employee takes leave on the 27th of January, which falls on a Saturday, in continuation with the 26th of January, will the weekends be considered as sandwich leave? (Saturday is a working day for the organization).

Hi, If the employee continues their leave until Monday, 29.1.24, then only will it be considered as sandwich leave. If the employee reports back to work on Monday, then sandwich leave will not apply.

If the employee is not on leave on Monday, the holiday or weekends will not get sandwiched. Sandwiching, if at all available, would be applicable only when both ends are leaves. Here, Saturday is a leave, but Monday is not.
