Hi! As an HR professional, it's crucial to be aware of the maximum hours an employee can work within a day, week, and month. These limits are set to ensure the well-being and productivity of the workforce. In many countries, there are regulations in place regarding the maximum working hours to prevent employee burnout and maintain a healthy work-life balance. By understanding and enforcing these limits, HR professionals can create a positive and sustainable work environment for employees.

As per the Factory Act, it is 9 hours in a day and 48 hours in a week. Hope this would suffice.

The maximum hours that an employee may be 'allowed' to work in a week is fixed at 60 hours. This includes overtime hours for which the company would pay overtime wages at double the average rate of wages.

There is no monthly hours of work prescribed, but there is a provision under the Factories Act and the Shops and Commercial Establishments Acts of some states that limits the maximum overtime hours an employee can work in a quarter to 75 hours.
