Understanding Workers' Compensation: How Is the Sum Insured Calculated for a 23,000 Salary?

rahul-shukla1
Hi friends, Any workman earning 23,000/- per month and working in the ESIC-notified area will be covered under the Workers' Compensation (WC) policy. I want to know what the sum will be insured for him and how it will be calculated.

Regards, Rahul

An employee receiving Rs. 23,000 per month would obviously be out of ESI coverage. He should be covered under the workmen's compensation policy. You can include his details in the existing policy and pay the required premium. If you do not have a policy right now, to obtain one, please contact the LIC office. The sum assured will depend on the age and salary, with the salary capped at Rs. 15,000. Since the compensation payable is age-dependent, there is no specific sum assured individually. You can request a quotation with the details of the employees provided.
