Hi, sir. This is Suraj. I wanted to get some clarification about the leave procedure. Currently, I am working in a private limited company in Delhi, and I am planning to take a 20-day leave. I would like to inquire whether I would be eligible for the Deepali holiday and sundry.

Unless otherwise provided in the law, holidays and weekly off days that occur during the leave period would be considered as leave days. Therefore, if there are holidays and weekly off days within this 20-day period, they will be counted as leave days, and you cannot offset them by working on another day, nor will your total number of leave days be reduced by these holidays or weekly off days.

Under the Factories Act

Under the Factories Act (a Central Act that applies nationwide), it is explicitly stated that holidays and weekly off days that fall between leave periods should not be included as part of the leave entitlement. Please note that this provision pertains specifically to earned leaves.

Please remember to adhere to these regulations when planning and taking your leave.
