Confused About PF Deductions and Overlapping Employment Dates? Need Help Resolving This!

Hi, I absconded from Company A on 29th March 2022 due to some medical issues. I've even asked for a Date of Joining (DOJ) postponement, but I haven't received any reply, so I had to leave without reporting to them. However, they have created a PF account and provided a month's salary slip with PF deduction. I haven't received any salary because I haven't given my bank account information to them. I joined Company B on May 18th, 2022, but Company A marked my exit as 6th June 2022, leading to an overlap.

How can they create a PF account and deduct PF when I have not received any salary?

Seeking Help for Resolution

Can anyone please help me address this issue and resolve the overlap?

PF Deduction for Short-Term Employment

It is mandatory for every company, as per the EPF Act, to deduct PF from the salary of an employee who works even for one day for the company, and if a salary is generated even for one day. They will deduct your PF from the gross salary. You will receive your full and final payment through a cheque.

You should ask your previous company to provide a letter where they will mention your exact date of leaving. You will have to deposit this letter to the concerned PF Office.

From your explanation, I understand that you have created a new UAN, and the same UAN is continuing in your new organization. Also, PF is deducted and remitted to the PF office. In such a case, please fill in the Joint Declaration Form and mention the correct date of leaving, obtain the signature of your past employer, and submit it to EPFO. They will change the date of leaving from their end.
