Joining a New Company with a Fake Degree: Will My Experience Be Enough to Pass Background Checks?

I am joining a new company with a fake degree but with 4 years of genuine experience. Will this be a problem or will I get caught in the background verification check?

The company I am going to join has only one branch in Bangalore, India. They have 300 to 400 employees, but their pay scale is very high. I have been offered 10 lakh per year as a technical support engineer with 4 years of experience.

We cannot assure you that you will not be caught. By creating a fake certificate, you have already misled previous companies and candidates who possess genuine certificates. I advise that it would be best if you quit the company you are currently employed with and refrain from joining any other company. This advice may not be acceptable to you, but I don't think you will receive better advice than this from this forum.

Submitting a fake degree certificate is unethical. During background verification (BGV), usually, past employment details will be verified, not educational certificates. Moreover, you are joining as an experienced candidate, so the priority will be given to past employment verification only. Still, be cautious. Why not pursue a part-time or correspondence course to obtain a legitimate degree?

No matter how many branches the company has or how big the company is, providing fake certificates can lead to legal actions.

So, it's better to pursue a more relevant course. It will help you grow into a higher position without feeling guilty.

Education is power; one can't survive for long with fake credentials.
